Enjoy Authentic Japanese Tea

Brew a delicious cup easily with your everyday kitchen tools!

Tea Master's Tip: Never use boiling water! To prevent bitterness and unlock the perfect flavor in every cup, always use water around 80°C (175°F).

Quick "Shaken Matcha"

Smooth, creamy matcha in seconds—no lumps!

What you need:
A bottle with a tight lid, 2g Matcha (1 tsp), 150ml (5 oz) water or hot water.

Instructions:

  1. Add matcha and water (around 80°C / 175°F) to the bottle.
  2. Close tightly and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
  3. Pour and enjoy! (Add ice for a refreshing Iced Matcha.)

"At-Home Matcha Latte"

Cafe-style latte made easy with a handheld milk frother.

What you need:
Handheld milk frother, 2g Matcha (1 tsp), 30ml (1 oz) hot water, 150ml (5 oz) milk.

Instructions:

  1. Whisk matcha and hot water in a mug using the frother until smooth.
  2. Pour in warmed (or cold) milk and stir gently.
  3. Add honey or syrup to taste if desired!

Authentic "Pure Matcha"

Bring out deep umami using a simple kitchen whisk.

What you need:
Small whisk, wide bowl or mug, 2g Matcha (1 tsp), 70ml (2.5 oz) hot water.

Instructions:

  1. Warm the bowl with hot water, then wipe it completely dry.
  2. Add matcha (sift for extra smoothness).
  3. Pour in slightly cooled water (about 80°C / 175°F).
  4. Whisk briskly in an "M" or "W" motion until a fine foam forms.

Quick "Daily Brew"

A relaxing cup made easy with a tea infuser.

What you need:
Tea infuser, 3g Sencha leaves (1 tbsp), 150ml (5 oz) hot water.

Instructions:

  1. Place tea leaves in the infuser and set it in your mug.
  2. Pour boiling water into a separate cup to cool (70-80°C / 160-175°F).
  3. Pour the cooled water into your mug and wait 1-1.5 minutes.
  4. Remove the infuser and enjoy! (Re-steep for a second cup.)

Authentic "Slow Pour"

Take your time brewing in a teapot for a truly authentic taste.

What you need:
Teapot, your favorite cup, 4g Sencha leaves, 150ml (5 oz) hot water.

Instructions:

  1. Pour boiling water into the teapot and cup to warm them, letting it cool (70-80°C / 160-175°F).
  2. Discard the water from the teapot and add the tea leaves.
  3. Pour the cooled water into the teapot, cover, and wait 1-1.5 minutes.
  4. Pour every last drop into your cup for concentrated umami.

Quick "Relaxing Cup"

Let the roasted aroma fill the room. Perfect for winding down.

What you need:
Tea infuser, 3g Hojicha leaves (1 heaped tbsp), 150ml (5 oz) boiling water.

Instructions:

  1. Place tea leaves in the infuser and set it in your mug.
  2. Pour in freshly boiled water (90-100°C / 195-212°F).
  3. Wait for 30 seconds to 1 minute (do not over-steep).
  4. Remove the infuser and enjoy!

Authentic "Aroma Pot"

Maximize Hojicha's exquisite aroma by brewing in a teapot.

What you need:
Teapot, cup, 4g Hojicha leaves, 200ml (7 oz) boiling water.

Instructions:

  1. Place tea leaves in the teapot.
  2. Pour in freshly boiled water (90-100°C / 195-212°F) and cover.
  3. Steep for 30 seconds to fully extract the aroma.
  4. Pour every last drop into your cup. (Try adding milk for a Hojicha Milk Tea!)
