Frequently asked questions

About Our Tea

Q: Is the tea made in Japan?

A: Yes, it is 100% grown in Japan. We carefully select the finest tea leaves from top tea-producing regions across the country depending on the season and quality. The selected leaves are then expertly processed and packed in Wazuka, Kyoto—a region renowned for its premium traditional tea—before being delivered fresh to you.

Q: Is the tea organic?

A: We strictly select tea leaves that are grown 100% pesticide-free. You can enjoy our tea with peace of mind, knowing it is cultivated safely with the power of nature.

Q: Can I choose which tea (Sencha or Hojicha) I receive every month?

A: To provide you with the best possible experience, we use a "Tea Master's Choice" approach. While you cannot select the tea yourself, our tea professionals will hand-select either the finest Sencha or Hojicha for you each month based on peak seasonality and quality. Please look forward to the surprise of what arrives in your box!

Q: I don’t know how to brew Japanese tea or make Matcha. Do I need special equipment?

A: We have prepared a dedicated Brewing Guide to help you enjoy our tea easily, even if you are a beginner. We also introduce simple ways to prepare tea using everyday items at home, without the need for traditional tools. Please check out our guide [here].

Q: How many cups of tea can I make with one monthly box?

A: The 30g of Premium Matcha yields about 15–30 cups, and the 60g of loose-leaf tea (Sencha or Hojicha) yields about 15–20 cups. It is the perfect amount to enjoy a relaxing tea time 1–2 times a day throughout the month.

Q: How long does the tea last, and how should I store it?

A: The shelf life depends on the type of tea:

  • Matcha & Sencha (Unopened): Best within 1 year of the manufacturing date.
  • Hojicha (Unopened): Best within 2 years of the manufacturing date.

Freshness is key to Japanese tea. Once opened, please store the tea in a cool, dark place (or a refrigerator) away from heat and humidity, and enjoy it within 2 months for the best flavor.
